In taking on MacArthur Park, one of the most beautiful of legendary songwriter Jimmy Webb’s repertoire, Jungr reveals the beauty of the song and showcases her own unique singing.
The song takes us almost operatically through the past to the present, and is recorded with piano, orchestrally supporting that journey, in the hands of the fine musician and arranger Simon Wallace.
I responded to a challenge from the renowned cabarettist Dusty Limits who said “the only person I want to hear sing this again is Barb” by recording it. He loves it so here you are! I hope you will too. Simon has arranged it magnificently and plays it like a piano demon.
